Uhm J, sure some of the 'mothers' were brought on stage in Chile, but
you forgot a few things, first, bono still has to sing the song unless
you got up in the melodramatics. Second point, how much more compelling
is 'Mothers...disappeared' when the song is sandwiched between a Bono
shadow boxing spar session and some muscle shirt cliche poses. It's OK
to have some fun onstage but there's also a price, it disconnects us
from the passion that makes music more than a dispensible commodity.
Ironic that Edge despised the term 'pop' in '85 with his 'candy bar'
'disposable' and limited 'long term value'. I guess eye candy isn't
technically 'candy bar'.
I guess I just prefer 'Mothers...' without the superhero outfit and
shades, kind of a genetically altered clone, not really a reasonable
facsimile. The 'Mothers' lyrical seed at inception and showcased in
frisco is the real thing, not a cloned reasonable facsimile. Time
doesn't stand still J even if you're running to stand still.
Cheers J (ivetalk), after your retroactive argument hemorrhaged, you
could have refrained from using logic retroactive to inception.
