first...sharon...a small correction to your post.......nico is
spelled with one "c". :) :)

second, the one person i know at polygram tells me that r.e.m.
was, indeed, dropped from mercury (mercury is a subsidiary of
polygram) and that they regret it painfully. of course, it all
depends on who you talk to, i guess....r.e.m. might say that
they left the label; mercury might say that they dropped r.e.m.
....who knows. i wish wille mays had stayed a cubbie.
