I don't know why they chose not to put "Gloria" on the GH. I guess it
was a matter of having so many good songs to choose from they just plain
decided not to put it on there. Of course I have the album it was
original on, but I hate vinyl and am absolutely going to have to get
"October" on CD.
Oh, yes, the other question. I love "Pop". I think the press really
hyped it up so much as "dance music" that that turned some people off. I
don't think it's a dance album, period! OK, you can dance to Discotheque
, but this hardly makes the album "dance music". It does indeed sound
more like their old material than "Zooropa" did. I love Zoopora, but it
was quite a departure for them. Still, "Pop" is a bit quirky, what with
all of the techno influence. The techno thing may have turned off some
people. Personally, I think U2 sound better when they're not going quite
so heavy on electronics, and it seems like alot of people more or less
agree with me.. I'm delighted that they're back with Eno and Lanois. I'm
looking forward to the fruits of their current labor!

Pax,
Patricia
