Hi!

There's no need to apologize Annemarie....but thank you for your thoughts.
I certainly wasn't offended at all. I have a great deal of respect for so
many of you "youngin's" ;o) (no offense intended, just a joke!) on the
list. Many of you are so intelligent, insightful, thoughtful, caring and,
at times, hilarious! It's terrific to see that people so young (the one on
the list that is 14 springs to mind....sorry, can't remember your name off
the top of my head.....old age I guess! lol ) can take away so much from
the music that U2 makes. And that is what I meant. The music crosses all
barriers. Yes, we certainly are "One, but not the same" in this music. I
still, however, believe what I said. Being the same age makes a bit of a
difference. It does. And I do not say this to offend anyone or to imply
that I am any better or more of a fan because of it. I see it as a fact. So
maybe we should just leave it at this. Because each one of us loves this
music, that is what really matters. Not age. I really enjoy the fact that I
have made friends because of U2 and age is not much of a factor. I
certainly do not want to alienate anyone on this list because of the age
issue. Please accept *my* apologies if I did. But to those that are truly
offended by the age issue.....please, just open your mind to the
possibility that people born at a certain time share certain things, a
commonality. Maybe you don't realize it yet, but you will feel this about
*your generation* as time goes on. It will happen. Life does happen!

Faith, hope and LOVE,

Di

P.S. I have a 12 year old who loves U2, but she doesn't have all the life
experience to fully understand all that is being said in some of their
songs. But the music, well, the music speaks to her soul. That she and I
have in common. It's the music. Each and every one of us has that in common
on this list, too. Amazing, isn't it? I think so........ oh....and this is
to Ronnie, a fellow 38 year old. I am not an old fart, and I don't mind
being 38 at all. (I wouldn't mind knowing what I know now and look 20
again, but.... naw.....I don't even wanna go there! ;o) Age is a state of
mind, Ronnie. It's all up here. *points to noggin* And way to go!! Your 15
year old loves U2 as much as you, now that's a job well done, Dad! Take
care, Ronnie.
