What's the Big Deal?

I guess I don't understand the lack of faith many of you seem to all of a
sudden have in the boys. Maybe I'm terribly naive, but I do trust them
implicitly to know what is best for themselves and their careers and their
situation. I know they can't be strong-armed into *anything* and that they
don't do much of anything that they don't wish to do. I don't believe for
one moment that these 3 albums will just be put out in some non-creative
money-grubbing way - when the hell has U2 ever been non-creative, even for
one minute? Do you think that they somehow turned into pod-people overnight?
:-) These are the same guys with the same vision. Yes, GH (uh, Greatest
Hits, not General Hospital) is something they have said in the past that
they wouldn't do. So they must have a pretty dire reason for doing it.

I'm laughing my arse off at the reactions some of you have had: to the
people there who say that they "won't be a U2 fan anymore" if the GH albums
happen, I say this -

List your collections and we will kindly relieve you of them; don't let
the door hit you in the arse, and THANK YOU - in your absense, there will
now be more room at the b-stage for the rest of us!

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect your right to
yours. This was mine! :-)
