I guess that all depends on how old you are, and how much in touch with 
U2 you were at the time of all of these happenings.  I remember the 
summer of '85, sitting in front of my VCR with my finger on the 
play/record buttons waiting for U2 to take the stage at Live Aid.  They 
were pretty popular then (sold out 2 nights at a 15,000 seat arena that 
year in Ft. Lauderdale)...anyway, after that Live Aid show, everyone was 
talking about them...people that never heard or saw them were really 
moved by their performance.   That's when most of my friends became fans 
because they really made an impact with that performance.  Now take any 
20-year-old on this list, Live Aid may not have had any significance to 
them, since they were only about 7 at the time.  I have some older 
friends that feel that the US Festival in '83 was the big turning point.  
I think that show still reigns as the largest crowd they have performed 
in front of.  I guess that each event has its own argument for being 
their big turning point.
