I can't pretend to know anything about Bono and drugs but I was
under the impression that if he ever did drugs it was probably a thing
'to see what it was like' experiment. I have difficulty with the
concept of him every being a habitual user (and this is going to sound
so...simplistic..silly?) but taking a close look at all his pictures and
videos. He never had that 'drugged' look about him. You don't have to
be a child of the 60's to know what I mean. That unhealthy
thinness...that spaced out look in the eyes. I can remember seeing
performers while they were admittedly on drugs...and then seeing them
again after they were clean. The one example I can think of right now
is Grace Slick...what a difference in her appearance after she
straightned out.
Bono has always looked...clean to me. I think if there had been a major
change in his appearance the fans and press would have noticed and
investigated and poked around. Remember when the already skinny Stipe
lost some weight a couple of years ago and people started whispering
"AIDS"?...I think if Bono did drugs on a regular basis there would be
outward signs that would have been noticed...and admit it..we do watch
him rather closely.
