I've thought about that before. I'm gonna get really mushy here,
so forgive me.
I think it was Flanagan who wrote once that Bono was so open and
honest in his interviews, that fans closely following the band
could really know what Bono was like as a preson :)
It's very true that some people are so beautiful inside that
that inner beauty shines through for people that know them.
In some situations, that inner beauty is so strong that even strangers
can see it a little. I think that happens with Bono sometimes in
concerts. Sometimes people that are physically plain or even ugly
can look beautiful. I'm not saying that Bono is any kind of saint
or anything, but sometimes he's so happy and just so full of love for
everything...his life, Ali, his daughters, the other members of the band,
the music, God, etc. that sometimes he ablsolutely shines. What's in the
heart can make what's on the outside more beautiful.
God! If Bono read this he'd be *sooo* embarassed.
