Yeah, before I was *absolutely* diggin' U2 and was a big ol' fan, I
thought Bono was "cute." I never even knew how to pronounce his name
(was it Bawn-oh? Bone-oh?), but I really thought he was a good lookin'
older man, if I've ever seen one, baby! I rarely talked about it
though......until I was on my way to the L.A. Popmart show! My friend
Hayley knew about my little crush and said, "Hey Nikki- my mom thinks
Bono's cute too." Then her mom turned around in the front seat and
said, "Oooh yes! But mostly when he had longer hair, ya know?" I said,
"Oh boy, do I know!!!" Then Hayley's immature (probably *jealous*)
brother said, "Bono's gay! The man wear's vinyl pants!" Then Hayley's
mom and I looked at each other, smilin', and were like, "Oh yeah, baby!
Gotta love those vinyl pants!" Then I kicked Travis' ass for callin'
Bono gay....not that there's anything wrong with gay! There is *not*.
But stinkin' Travis meant it as a put down. That wasn't cool. Whatta
dork. That wanker needs to grow up.....
Aaaaaanyway (gettin' off the subject here- sorry!), until that
moment.....I had never found anyone else who thought Bono was a hot. It
was bitchin' talkin' to Hayley's mom about that! *And* did y'all know
that my mom digs the man? She liked his sexy voice when she got Frank
Sinatra's Duets album. :) My mom thought he was sexy before even
seeing his face. That's awesome!
So people, my point is.............oh God........do I even have one?
Shite, I rambled and rambled and rambled, and I don't even know what the
hell my point was..........Ha ha! Oh well.
No -wait- I think I was gonna make the point that Bono was "cute" to me,
before I really got into their music. THEN when their music entered my
life----- LOOK OUT, BABY! That's when the man became this
*beeeeeautiful* creature. Sure, before the music, I thought he had some
sex appeal, I guess. But *after*, when I experienced the voice and the
lyrics and aaaaaall that talent.....that was it! I decided I want to
marry a man just like Bono! :) God, what an amazing man. And my
friend's fail to see this. They tease me, "ooooooh Nikki loves Bono!
oooooh! Ha haaaa!" Oh shuuuuut uuuuuup! It's not just based on the
physical, people! I love the man's work. It's....I guess you could
call it a turn on. It's beautiful beautiful work, and that makes him an
even more beautiful person.
So that's why I dig Bono. :) And someday people....someday....I'm
gonna find me a man like that, baby!
Sorry this was so long. When I start typin' sometimes, I just can't
stop!!! :P
