Hi!
The only time I have ever heard those lyrics was on a country radio station
in a song recorded by Kathy Mattea. I don't know who wrote it. If Bono
was the author of an enormously popular country hit, I think we would have
heard about it.
So.....either someone gave Bono credit where none was due, or Bono
swiped those lines and never bothered his heiny giving the writer credit.
Scary. But it wouldn't be the first time one writer got "inspiration" from
another--just look at Puffy. Haha. (I prefer to think it's a case of someone
mistakenly thinking Bono wrote them. It's just easier that way.) :o)
