I have to say, I agree that the outdoor atmosphere is much better. I
saw 4 outdoor shows and one indoor. The dreary atmosphere at the indoor
show could have been affected by a number of other factors when compared
to the outdoor shows (i.e. it was cold and cloudy rather than hot and
sunny, it was a half-full rather than full stadium). But still, I felt
like there was something much more magical about being outside, at the
mercy of the elements. People were much more lively before the shows,
doing the wave and throwing around beach balls, balloons, and the
occasional inflated lemon.

I am not all against this new smaller-shows-only thing. After having
only seen U2 in stadiums, I am intrigued by the notion of putting them
in a space where all the seats are at least decent. Of course, that
leaves less space for us all in front of the stage. More's the pity.
