Well, my little P.S. in yesterday's post has taken on a life of its
own! Why not have a little fun in the editions of Wire? For those of you
who missed it, I casually asked for those living in Australia what they
thought "The Emerald City" was in their country (since it is nicknamed
"Oz"). Even those who don't live in Australia but have visited there can
vote too. Please keep the votes to cities in Australia (I did get an
explicit vote for Dublin and a de facto vote for Paris - both great
cities, neither in Australia). Please vote only once - I am keeping the
e-mails I get to make sure I have a fair tally. The results so far:
Sydney - 2
Melbourne - 2
That's it (besides the two non-Australian votes)! I know from seeing all
of the e-mails on Wire and all of the ones I've received privately that
there are a lot of Wirelings in Australia. Vote! Your vote can be
completely subjective, so just pick the city you like the most: Sydney,
Melbourne, Perth, Alice Springs - whatever! (The last one was a joke. I
just remember it from "Priscilla - Queen of the Desert". Great film!)

P.S. Now that I have your attention Down Under, could you answer me
this? Is ABBA really as popular there as all of the movies depict?
