I wish i had seen the War Tour just to see the boys in their youth,
full of strength and vigour when they were singing old songs
like New Years Day or Sunday
I wish I had seen the Unforgettable Fire tour, just to see for good
Bono's incredible hair cut...
i wish i had seen the Joshua Tree Tour, cos to listen to a masterpiece
is good, but to watch it becoming alive is better, also to
see the greatest ever versions of Bad, and WOWY... to see the boys
living their huge success and becoming gods every night
during that tour, cos i think it must have been grand and unforgettable
I wish i had seen the Lovetown Tour cos they, so i was told, really
energized the audiences, and changed their set list every
night... to see what must have been wonderful moments with bb king on
stage... and to be able to say farewell to the 1980s in
dublin on december 31st 1989.
I wish i had seen the Zootv Tour just to experience the awesome
overtures with Zoostation... to see the Fly in flesh and bone
saying "you didn't come all the way down here to watch tv, now DID
YA?", to listen to bono's emotional singing of Until the
End of the world, to be able visualize One, to listen to Larry's
beating on Angel of Harlem... to see The Mirror BAll man
throwing all the money out of his pockets.
I wish i had seen the Zooropa Tour, just to see the boys play Stay and
to sing it -just like the rest of the crowd- along with
them... to laugh at MacPhisto's calls... to yield to the temptation
he was offering back then... to be able to dance with Bono on
Love is Blindness... to see with my own eyes the messages on the
screens during the Fly... to laugh at the trabant cars hanging
everywhere...
I wish i had seen the Popmart cos the video made me cry... cos i love
lemons, and u2 made me like discotheques... cos their
clothes were sexy... because the screen was more than a cinema...
because Please + Where the Streets tear my heart in pieces
every time i listen to the Popheart EP...because they would have
turned me on with Popmuzik Mofo and I will Follow...
because of Desire and Sunday Bloody SUnday played with only
guitars...to hear Bono's giggles at the beginning of Hold Me...
because, simply, it was HUGE and GREAT.
I've been a fan for so long.... I'll be there for the next tour. I'll
see it. At last ------
