Okay, slow period on WIRE.. So I'm going to TRY to start a thread.. I know the thing I love most on the WIRE is hearing stories from people who have met the band, sooooooo:

How many of you have met any members of the band? Even if you've already shared your stories, I bet there are some good ones that the newer members, or those who don't read regularly have missed. At least, it's a trip down memory lane.. Did anyone meet them in their early years? I'd LOVE to hear about that! How about running into them somewhere unusual? Visit them in Ireland?

Share your I MET U2 stories! In the very least, it'll give us frozen midwesterners something to read while we're snowed in (big 8 degrees outside today)..

Hey, I'll start with a story a girl I knew in high school told me: Some of her friends, while U2 was on the Zoo-TV tour, found out where U2 was staying and managed to sneak inside.. They got up to the room where the band was supposedly at and knocked on the door. They could hear a lot of noise from inside, apparently they were having some sort of party. Suddenly they are rather nervous to be intruding, but it's too late to back down now. The Edge opens the door. "Um," they said. "Can we get your autographs?" Edge turns and yells inside the room, "hey Bono! These kids want some autographs! What should we do with them?!" Uh-oh. The kids in question are suddenly VERY nervous. Bono appears, grinning. "Hmmm. I dunno. Howabout we make them stand on their heads?" The kids stand on their heads for U2, and they give them autographs.

True story? Beats me. But I thought that was pretty funny myself.. ;)
