Hey- Wanna hear something bitchin'?
ALL my friends are diggin' U2 more and more and MORE lately. Well it's
about f#@%in' time! Really, I am sooooooo stoked! The other day, while
my friend Stacy and I were talkin' on the phone, she had no U2 on her so
she asked me to play some for her. I put War on. :) Then she
proceeded to tell me about how she has U2 withdrawls while away at
college (ya know, 'cause I'm not there to play it as usual. hehe!).
THEN, my friend Natalie told me yesterday, "You know....I'm startin' to
like U2 more. Before, I knew of 'em but didn't know what they sang
exactly. Now....I like their music!" And this was a *shocker* 'cause
she and I have had this on-going battle about who's the best: U2 or
Beastie Boys. I'd say, "U2, dammit!" She'd say, "NO way! Beasties!"
*eye rollage* Oh whatever Natalie. And she'd always tease me when I'd
put U2 on. But NOW -haha- she's seeing the light. We were driving to
the mall, and Mysterious Ways came on the radio, and not only did I have
a cow, goin' "AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" but so did SHE! *whoa* That's
awesome. She said, "I like this one! And Discotheque too!" (I think
the U2 laser show I drug her to has something to do with that...) And
when we left the mall, complete with a new U2 single in my hands
(Please, which is the best single I've ever owned- it is *so*
incredible), she was askin' me all kinds of questions about the band
("When did Bono and his wife get together?...And they're *still*
together?...Wow, that's cool") and askin', "Can we listen to number 3, 4
and 5 first?" LOL! This was a first- Natalie *asking* to hear U2. How
great is that?

Well, I'm tired of typing now. Sure you're tired of readin'. I'm outta
here. Just wanted to share this with y'all, 'cause I LOVE YA, WIRE! ;)

-Nikki-

P.S. What took me so long to buy the Please single? How wonderful is
it!?! VERY, I'd say. 'Specially track 2 (Please live) leading into
track 3 (Streets live). It is *unreal*. It takes my breath away.

P.P.S. OK, so I have one more thing to say. While at the mall, buyin'
the Please single, I spotted a U2 thingy on the wall in the music store.
Well (*wink wink*) I've got connections baby (my friend works there) and
I got to take the little U2 Pop picture on the wall home with me. It's
mine, all mine! WOO HOO! Nothin's better than free U2 stuff. :)

P.P.P.S. ONE more thing- I swear. Just wondering.....when you've got
Where the Streets Have No Name on in your room, in your car or where
ever, at a certain point in the middle of that song, does anyone else
shout out "HEY YOU!" and wave? It's a strange habit of mine. Man, I
think I've seen the ZooTV Sydney video one too many times!
