(Friends know I can't resist this one!)

Asko -- I'm not sure what you mean by "small" or "obscure." The band
you're referring to is Something Happens, and they're considered in many
circles to be the 2nd-best four piece to ever come out of Ireland. (We
should all know who's #1.)

For anyone who's curious, Something Happens has been making music since
the mid- to late-80s and has released 6 albums to date. They had quite a
bit of success of alternative and college radio in the USA in the early
90s with their album "Stuck Together With God's Glue." A couple years
ago, this "small" band beat out every other Irish band in history to win
2FM's "Best Irish Single of All Time" competition -- U2 had 4 entries in
the contest! They have been hugely popular in Ireland for some time, and
despite not being as active in the studio lately, they still play many
packed club shows in Ireland year-round.

If you're interested in the 2nd-best band to ever come out of Ireland,
take a look at

If anyone considers Something Happens "small" or "obscure," it's really
more a reflection of that person's musical knowledge than of the band's
stature.

Thanks for the vine.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Matt
