The problem with only writing to Wire every three weeks...

...is that all your posts end up reeeally long. Hey again guys. I want
to write more often but I always just feel a little overwhelmed because
everyone here seems to know so much more than I do! And I know, I know,
it's all right and it doesn't matter just so long as you like the band,
but it's hard for me to not feel a little inferior. I bow at your
collective experience :)

Anyway. As usual, just some things rattling and humming :) around in my
head that I thought I would bring up.
--Pardon my ignorance, but what's the deal with this "Lean on Me" thing?
Seeing these Grammy nominations is the first I'd heard of it.
Enlightenment, please! Also, I find it a little hard to believe that
Bono would actually be banned from the Grammys. What, they have posters
backstage with his picture and "Don't let this man near a microphone!"
("in large capital letters...large capital letters...")
--One of my many U2-related Christmas/birthday presents was a
subscription to Propaganda (whoo!) I don't know if anyone will know
this, but--will they send me the most recent issue or will I have to
wait until the next one comes out (whenever the hell *that* is)? Also,
is there any way to go about getting back issues?
--Someone was writing about the "Please" single earlier this week. I
don't have it yet but I have seen it and *what* is the deal w/ the
cover? When I first saw it I thought it was some joke ala Negativeland.
Maybe I'm totally missing something...

What else? Oh. Another thing I got was a couple of posters ('87 era pic
of the band and the Bono-in-a-bathrobe one) and they finally arrived
earlier this week. I got them both up on my ceiling right away (over my
bed, naturally) and it wasn't 24 hours before the Bono one fell off. I
just found it rather amusing that in all the time I've been putting
stuff on my ceiling nothing has ever fallen off but Bono does right
away. Too restless for it, I guess :) (Got it back up now BTW, a little
more securely I hope!)

Actually, I'm getting all sorts of U2 stuff in the mail these days. Got
4 records from people and all of them are in good condition which
according to my mom means I shouldn't try to play them at all. Isn't it
possible to play a record w/out scratching it? (I'm new at this "vinyl"
thing, sorry :)) I have them all on CD of course but I would like to
hear how they sound on the albums. Is she being paranoid or does she
have a point?

I've already offered to make several people copies of the "Legends"
special so if anyone else needs one let me know. (Yes, it's being rerun
a few times this month but this is for people who don't have access to
VH-1 or something like that). And I wouldn't mind getting a hold of that
A-Z thing w/ all the videos or the Simpsons ep or the Letterman
appearance or--well, anything, really, provided people aren't asking an
outrageous amount of cash for it.

Quick note on that Details cover--dear god, you have to post a *warning*
with these things! *Yum.* I like how Teresa put it, about having your
definition of beauty redefined :) I guess there's a seperate list to
gush about these things now though and yes I've signed up on it.
Speaking of Teresa, I'd like to give a "shout-out" (ha) to her and my
other buddies, esp. David, Stacy, and Rose (who won't see this because
she's not back on yet, but...) Love ya'll, and will get back to your
e-mails at some point.
