Bono actually said that most of the songs on Achtung Baby were about the
Edge's personal life. So yeah, you don't have to sing about your own
experiences to make great songs.

To put my two cents in on "One", I think the Italy version is a little
cheesy. Its too over the top for me, it tries too hard. This song should
be sung sparingly. Overgoing it will make the message heavy in an obvious
way.

I'd like to hear an acoustic version, with Bono's voice starting real low,
tired, hungover, mean. the beginning of the song is MEAN, and that's why
the end is so exhilarating.
