Olena - you sane woman you, thanks for your thoughts. Don't forget to buy
Unforgettable Fire. Its one of my favorites.

As for people's "Questionable morals", I think we should remember what Bono
said "We don't take ourselves seriously, but we take the music very
seriously." Can't we do the same.

Why do we insist on going around judging people. Why do we want to control
people so much, people we don't even know? This sort of judgement says a
lot more about the person judging than about the behavior. Morality comes
in shades of grey. I want to emphasise that the realationships people have
to eachother are determined by those people. Some couples agree to have
sex outside of the marriage. Some people make mistakes, own up, and are
sorry for them.

But I really want an answer all you judges out there. Why are you judging
this behavior (and the "excuses" for it)? What does it get you? Do you
feel better having stated that it is wrong? Are you concerned about Ali
(her feelings) or some kind of abstract moral law? Life isn't about
running around and deciding how everything ought to be - its about finding
your own balance, your own sense of beauty and joy.

Of course we want Bono to be good, because his music is so good. And
because it is so soulful, we want him to have a pure soul (and actions that
reflect it). But his soul isn't pure, and it needn't be. He is a flawed
individual, I can guarantee that. But he has a pure vision of the world.
And i suspect that, whatever he does, he accepts that vision, and doesn't
lie to himself about it either. Especially when it comes to his own
character.

Neither should you.
