thought I would let you know.

yes, but i was referring to the episode aired on UK television. I saw
it there first, and then last summer we got to watch a recording of
the episode off US TV, and when we heard them say 'wankers' we couldnt
believe it!!!! we had to rewind the tape and listen again. Neither of
us remember 'wankers' being said in the UK airing, and for good reason
too - its an offensive word and would have to be cut if they wanted a
pre-9pm broadcast on UK television.
I suppose the script writers used it because to an US audience it
would be just a 'funny' term of abuse from across the atlantic, though
I doubt it was chosen because U2 were known to use it (if anything,
they could have picked a good Irish swearword, like 'gobshite')
Oh for a WAV file of Homer Simpson mumbling 'gobshite' under his
breath.....

zeek.
