on reply to Stephen McBride:

Hello Stephen,

You wanna hear a foreigner tell you what he thinks of this conflict? Here it
is. I've seen many documentary, i'm interested in irish history and the
feeling i have with this conflict is that it had to end this way. The
mistake was made in 1923 (or 24 or 25..... correct me please) when the Sinn
Feinn and England decided to separate Ireland in 2 countries. What England
has done to Ireland in the past can not be forgotten in a few months. I've
read what English Parliament said about Irish men dying during the great
hunger..... it was something like "let them die their're only Irish". As a
Frenchman i could compare the situation to the Algerian situation. We,
French people, don't have to expect Algerian people to forgive us for what
we've done..... we've got to wait a long long time for this. I thing the
Irish problem is a (far) kind of similar. What about the English Pastors in
Ireland during the great hunger who forced people to abandon their catholic
faith because it was the only way for them to get some food? What about the
discrimination in Ulster during the 20th Century? Catholic people in Ulster
won't forget it and during a long time the Cartholic community was totally
supporting IRA... not anymore, but where do you think this support comes
from?
Forget about your respective religions and things will go better. What i
think is that the worst thing that happened to the world is
religions........ go on, flame me, but stop and think about the wars that
have a religious background. How many judes killed during WWII only because
they were Judes? Isn't it a pity? In France during 16th Century protestants
were tortured just because they were protestant.... well done guys! I'm
ashamed to live in coutries where religious people are totally intollerant.
Talking about terrorism..... what about Israel? They come, kick the
Palestinians out of their homes, out of their country and are now surpised
that bombs are exploding in their city centers.... come on guys, you've got
what you've been looking for. Have some respect for each other and things
will go better.

Before your start flaming me, you wondered about a foreigner's opinion, you
have it. I'd like to hear what you think about it.

Pierrick.
