I know it's hard, but stop what you're doing and try to think outside your
U2 bubble for a second. There's this band who hails from ireland, and
they're called the Black Romantics. Their singer is named Jack Lukeman. And
they are unbelieveable. Truly. I had the opportunity to see them live
several times during the College Music Journal fest in New York City, and
what I saw was an incredible show, a terrific performer and some of the
best music you'll ever hear, at least until the next U2 album. ;-) Their
influences include Jacques Brel, with a little Sinatra, Nick Cave and Tom
Waits thrown in for good measure. You'll never hear a better combination.

I HIGHLY recommend you check them out, either from their webpage
(www.jacklukeman.com -- you need the latest Real Audio) or when they next
return to the States, sometime next year. They're playing some gigs in
Europe soon, in Belgium and Ireland, and I really encourage those of you
who can to check them out. You'll be amazed.

U2 content? Um. The keyboard player called in and voted when U2 went on
Dave Fanning's show way back when to let the listeners decide what songs
would be on U2-3. :-)
