WRONG! (grin) You cannot ask any country whose team actually played
the World Cup to support Brazil. Most fans are a little disappointed,
somewhat hurt at their team's performance. Of course, the principle of
fair play must force us all to believe that "may the best team win"
but hey! Let's be realistic, as soccer is this moving passion in a
nation, there is *no way* we can erase the disappointment of
elimination from the Cup.
Besides, Bono wanted desperately to meet Diego Maradona when U2 played
in Buenos Aires. Does that make U2 fans of the Argentine team as well?
Hence, Wirelings should be disappointed and forget about this Cup and
wait till 2002?
Personally, I like that thought better than yours (sorry Brazilian
Wirelings, but this friendly rivalry is reciprocal, isn't it?)
May the best team win. If it's the team I admire and cheer for, the
better (hah hah)
Keep dreaming out loud.
