Hey gang....

In response to David Antich's ([email protected]) post about U2 songs
appearing on soundtracks and they overall effect they have on the film, I just
wanted to add a bit to it. First off I totally agree with my new buddy Dave as
far as "Frealess" and "Blown Away" go. Any chance you get to see Tommy Lee
Jones play the happy IRA bomber all the while singing U2, (and quite
enthusiastically singing) you KNOW you have truly embarked upon something
special. (Although, I find a bit of irony in an IRA member singing U2 tunes,
seeing as how liberal U2 was) Anyways, it was quite humerous and did the movie
well!
One of my favorites has to be IGWSHA from the "City of Angels" soundtrack.
While I can't remember if they actually used the song during the movie, or
during the credits, the song sounds as if it were written for the movie &
vice-versa. Don't ya think? They seem to tell the same tale. There was some
movie my girlfriend and I saw at Blockbuster the other night that stated on
the front "Featuring The Music of U2" although now I can't recall what it was.
We were tempted to rent it just to find out what song(s) were used, but it
looked like one of those cheaply made HBO special types of films. I'll have to
find out for you all what movie it was. Well that's all I had to say. Dave was
right I think, this does make for an interesting discussion. Peace all!
